1. THE SHINING HOTEL HAUNTING
Henry Yau was visiting The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, US, when he decided to photograph the historic interior.
The spooky hotel inspired the 1980 creepy cult classic “The Shining”.
He took a panoramic photo with no people in the shot, but what he didn’t notice was a figure at the top of the stairs.
“By golly! I think I may have captured a #ghost at #StanleyHotel. #Estespark,” he wrote on Facebook.
2. PROOF OF BLACK MONK GHOST
Paranormal investigator Claire Cowell, 44, snapped the spooky image at one of the world’s most haunted houses, in 30 East Drive, Pontefract, West Yorkshire.
She claims the eerie photo reveals the arm of the ghostly figure in a monk’s robe clutching rosary beads.
The terrifying “ghoul” – dubbed the Blank Monk of Pontefract – reportedly terrorised the Pritchard family for years.
Claire said: “Everyone has been dying to see what this monk actually looks like. I have never seen such a solid, clear picture as that and may never get something like that again.”
3. WWII CAMP HAUNTING
A chilling image shows a shadowy figure looking from the first-floor window of the former psychiatric hospital which closed more than 15 years ago.
In the Welsh village of Bronllys, the asylum was also used as a prison for German soldiers in World War Two.
The spooky image was taken by walker Adam Smith, who said: “I caught an epic shot of a ghost at the abandoned Brecon and Radnor Lunatic Asylum.
“Maybe it was a patient who had a lobotomy or perhaps a soldier patient from the war or maybe even a Nazi prisoner.”
4. SELFIE SEATBELT WARNING
Melissa Kurtz, 48, was driving her daughter Harper to a beauty pageant when the 13-year-old started taking selfies on the 45-minute journey.
The mum-of-two was shocked to spot the ghostly face of a young boy lurking on the back seat and she believes was warning Harper to put on her seatbelt.
Melissa, from Florida, US, said: “It was a real ‘Oh my god’ moment. I was really shocked by it, incredibly shocked.”
The image was taken in July this year on a highway in the Maitland area of Florida, near Orlando.
5. GRIM REAPER LURKS IN GRAVEYARD
Dean Johnson — who claims not to believe in spooks — visited Northamptonshire’s Weeden Bec cemetery to prove ghouls are simply a figment of our imaginations.
But when he checked his photos he discovered the chilling outline of the dreaded Grim Reaper hovering over a tombstone.
The ghoul is alleged to be the last thing a person sees before they die, often depicted with a scythe and long black hooded gown.
The 48-year-old said: “This is one of the clearest pictures I’ve taken in my life where I can’t explain what the cause is — often you can say someone’s breathing into the frame or it’s different shades of light playing tricks, but this is something else.”
6. BLEEDING GHOST SOLDIERS STALK KIDS
Charlotte Harding, 30, visited St Fagans National History Museum in Cardiff last month and to her horror two uniformed ghosts can be seen in the bushes.
She was left unable to sleep after discovering the Battle of St Fagans took place in 1648 in which around 200 soldiers were killed.
Her research also revealed that Parliamentary uniforms looked “just like” what Charlotte caught in her picture.
Charlotte, from Cardiff, said: “The majority of people who have seen the photo think it is two soldiers in Civil War uniforms, like two men talking together. I can see it too.”
7. GHOST CAUGHT ON BABY MONITOR
Jaw-dropping footage shows a tot’s bed glowing in the darkness, slumbering infant inside, but something is wrong.
Because just above little Ruby a ghostly figure hovers for a moment, disappearing and returning.
The baffling footage was uploaded to Facebook by mum Jade Yates who could not believe her eyes.
Jade, of Victoria, Australia, said: “Fair to say I won’t be sleeping very well tonight, who believes in ghosts I didn’t until about 5 mins ago.”
8. LONDON UNDERGROUND GHOUL
Filming the platform at Knightsbridge station, in west London, this unlucky traveller uses his smartphone to get a panoramic view of his surroundings.
As he points the camera towards the tunnel, however, something truly unexpected appears.
What seems to be a flickering white figure suddenly jumps out from the edge of the wall, and can be clearly seen lurking just behind the barricades.
It shimmers in front of the camera for a few seconds before disappearing back into the darkness.
9. DEAD BIKER’S SPIRIT LEAVES BODY
A photo taken by a truck driver apparently shows a man’s soul leaving the body.
Saul Vazquez posted the image online, with the caption: “Zoom in and pay attention to the shadow just off the top of the state trooper’s hat.”
Vazquez took the picture from his truck while driving along a service road on the Bert T Combs Mountain Parkway in Kentucky, US.
The biker later died in hospital.
