A MAN has died and two others are in a critical condition after ingesting an unknown substance at a New Year’s party in Mount Lindesay.
Police were called to the large party – which is believed to have had as many as 500 guests – at 10.20am.
It is understood several people at the Hardgrave Rd address began having an adverse reaction to an unknown substance and needed urgent medical assistance.
One man was declared dead at the home while two were taken by helicopter – one to the Gold Coast University Hospital and the other to Toowoomba Base Hospital.
Detectives are on scene and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Police have described the party as a ‘rave’, but say it was not an official event.
