“This feels so awkward. I’m freaking out,” she said prior to the announcement.

“I’m gay,” she finally spilled.

Meri, who only has daughter Mariah, took the news the hardest, especially since she was catfished online by a woman pretending to be a man two years ago.

“I did not see it coming… I thought I knew my daughter, I didn’t,” she said in a preview for next week’s episode.

“I just don’t want to say the wrong thing and be offensive, but at the same time I want to be able to say what I feel.”

Meri also is seen getting frustrated with Kody and Robyn, who appear happy about Mariah’s announcement.

“We’re not happy that Mariah’s gay, we’re happy that she knows herself,” said the father of 17.

Thankfully Mariah received a lot of support and love on Twitter following the announcement, and she took to social media to show her gratitude.

“Wow okay y’all making me cry with your support. thank you thank you thank you thank you,” she tweeted.

We’re happy to see Mariah living her truth and sharing it with the world! You go, girl.

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
