NORTH KOREA: Kim Jong-un often welcomes photographers into Pyongyang

Photographers and reporters who enter North Korea are shepherded around by a host of handlers and guards.

The regime is fearful any information about the extent of the poverty and famine which are rife in North Korea would leak into the West.

Kim’s pack of spin doctors follows any journalist who enters the hallowed grounds of the beggar kingdom – and these are some of the carefully vetted photos they leave with.

As reporters are ushered around the ghostly cities and the capital Pyongyang, in the countryside North Koreans are starving and being savaged by devastating floods.

But pictures taken inside the nation’s inner core show a city life not dissimilar to downtown London – hiding the true terror of Kim’s regime.

Photographs show people cheering at North Korea’s military, commuters walking through subways adorned with paintings, and people sitting waiting for the bus on tree lined boulevards.

KIM JONG-UN: North Korea’s propaganda images hide the reality of the tyrannical regime

Behind the smiling faces of these North Koreans is the reality of an insular society entirely ruled by a propaganda machine and cult of personality dedicated to Kim.

Kim’s face appears on every important building, and government offices are jammed with hanging portraits and photos of him beaming.

Daily Star Online exclusively revealed Kim’s propaganda village which is located just a stone’s throw from the terrifying demilitarised zone which separates North and South Korea.

Kim has promised 2017 will be North Korea’s year of the nuke, pledging his nation will have an nuclear ICBM ready for operation to strike the US.

New US president Donald Trump has laughed off the suggestions, but US analysts have warned the World not to underestimate the regime whose nuclear programme is fuelled with stolen Russian technology and slave labour.

South Korea is taking no chances as it commissions a death squad to take out Kim if it looks like the North is set to trigger a nuclear war.
