The junior skier can be seen hanging perilously above the ground while officials scramble to his position.
Despite being in an immense amount of danger the boy appears calm throughout the ordeal.
He even throws his ski poles to the ground to lessen the weight on his backpack.
“It stopped and we looked around and we saw a boy dangling”
Clint Ashmead was on another chairlift when he saw the incident unfold.
He said: “It stopped and we looked around and we saw a boy dangling.
“The ski patrol reacted quickly – they shut down the lift and put a pad under the area in case boy did fall.”
Officials managed to put up a ladder and quickly release the boy from the lift.
Fortunately, the skier was successfully rescued and did not suffer any injuries from the incident.
This is the second time in less than a month that a skier has been left dangling by their backpack at the Sundance Resort in Utah, US.
