TWO teens have been arrested after a stolen van was chased by police before hitting a patrol car at Ceduna.
A Kia van was reportedly driving erratically just after 7pm on Thursday and patrols found the allegedly stolen can on a dirt road just outside Ceduna.
The driver failed to stop and police pursued the van on Denial Bay Rd.
Then the van crashed into a stationery police car on the Eyre Highway before the driver fled on foot.
A 16-year-old boy from the Eyre Peninsula was arrested after a short foot chase.
He was charged with illegal use, driving disqualified, engage in a police pursuit, aggravated due care, assault police and resist arrest.
He was refused police bail and appeared in the Ceduna Youth Court on Friday.
A 16-year-old girl who was a passenger in the stolen vehicle was arrested for assault police.
The damage repair to the police car is estimated between $5,000 to $8,000, while the stolen van received only minor damage.
