Yep, we’re definitely crying.
Ryan Gosling won big at the 2017 Golden Globes Sunday night, snagging the award for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for La La Land, but it was his acceptance speech that had us all in tears.
While he of course thanked his director and co-star, he made a special point to thank the leading lady in his life, Eva Mendes.
“I would like to try to thank one person properly and say while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer,” he said while accepting the award.
Are you bawling yet? If you’re not, you will be in a second.
“If she hadn’t have taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. So sweetheart, thank you.”
OK, now you’re definitely bawling, but keep it together because he makes sure to thank his daughters.
The A-list actors began dating in 2011 after they filmed The Place Beyond the Pines and had two daughters together, Esmeralda, 2, and 8-month-old Amada.
“To my daughters, I love you. And if I may, I would like to dedicate this to the memory of [Eva’s] brother, Juan Carlos Mendes.”
La La Land, which is a musical about a musician, played by Mr. Gosling, and an actress, played by Emma Stone, who fall in love on their quest to achieve their dreams.
Congrats on your award, Ryan! Keep being the most perfect person alive.
