LIKE many around the world, Sophie Monk saw the humour in Amber Sherlock’s meltdown — and couldn’t help herself as she posted this hilarious video.
Monk posted a video parody of her and best friend Oscar Gordon mocking the Channe Nine presenter’s meltdown in an off-air moment, which was leaked online.
Monk took to Instagram to upload their video from Canada, where they are on holidays together at the Silver Star Mountain Resort.
Wearing a white T-shirt, Monk took on the role of Sherlock, who got angry at her colleague, Julie Snook, for also wearing a white top.
In Monk’s video, she pretends to lash out at Snook, who is played by Gordon.
“I need Oscar to put a jacket on, I told him before,” Monk said, in Sherlock’s original tone.
“Right Soph, I haven’t had time,” Gordon said.
She replied saying she told him “two and a half hours” ago that he needed to change his top, just like Sherlock told Snook she had asked for her to change her top earlier.
“Honestly, I have not had time, I’ve been flat chat.”
Monk then hits back, saying: “I made this clear two hours ago,’ Sophie interrupted, rolling her eyes.
Gordon then defends his shirt, saying: “It’s blue for one”.
In the original video, Snook told Sherlock her top is blue, but she said it still looked white on camera.
Like Sherlock, Monk then pulled out her iPhone, and pretended to text as Sherlock did.
“Can someone go to the wardrobe, just go and get … I’ve got two black jackets there. Just got and get one,” Monk said.
The clip then cuts to Monk and Gorden sitting and smiling at the camera. Gordon is wearing a black hooded jacket.
They then burst into laughter as Monk said: “‘So silly,” Sophie giggled.
She captioned the video by saying: “Have you seen the newsreader meltdown over a white dress? Couldn’t help myself #teamamber #teamjacket @oscargordon”
The post was well-received by fans of Monk, who described her parody of the incident as hilarious.
It is understood the original video of Sherlock and Snook’s heated exchange was emailed around the Nine newsroom before being leaked to Mumbrella.
It is unknown who leaked the video, and there is said to be a “witch hunt” to find the person who did it.
Sherlock addressed the incident by telling Nine Honey, she “probably overreacted”.
“Live TV can be a pretty stressful beast, at times,” Sherlock said.
“It’s never much fun rocking up to work or to a party in the same outfit as one of your colleagues or friends. I probably overreacted with the pressure of presenting a live news bulletin.”
