Police hunt robber after hotel hold-up

POLICE are searching for a knife-wielding man who held up the Club Hotel bottleshop at Glenorchy.

Detective Inspector Craig Joel said a man dressed in black and wearing a balaclava confronted two staff members leaving the bottleshop about 11pm yesterday.

“The man produced a large knife, demanded money and fled the scene with an amount of cash,” he said in a statement.

The man was described as being of Causcasian appearance, about 190cm tall and of medium build.

He was wearing black jeans, black suede lace-up shoes, a black hoody, black balaclava and black gloves.

No one was injured in the incident.
