Prince William, Kate and Prince Harry Are Hosting a Party at Buckingham Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will kick off party season at Buckingham Palace this summer, when they host a tea party in the grounds of the Queen’s London residence.

A statement issued on behalf of the royals said the trio is teaming up to organise the special event to honour the children of those who have died serving in the Armed Forces.

“Their Royal Highnesses hope the event will provide an opportunity for these children to broaden their support networks amongst other families with similar experiences,” the statement said.

Invites will be sent this week to youngsters aged up to 18 years, who will each get to bring a parent or guardian. Charities which help support families dealing with the loss will also attend, including Child Bereavement UK, one of the organisations which the Duke of Cambridge is patron of.

Scheduled to take place on 13 May, the ‘Party at The Palace’ is set to be a “fun and family focused” occasion. As well as giving visitors the chance to explore the grounds of the royal home, the event is said to include live performances with stalls on the lawn for the younger generation to enjoy. There’s no word yet one whether William and Kate’s own children will attend, but Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been known to enjoy party games in the past…
