Katherine Heigl Just Can’t Catch A Break

Katherine Heigl just can’t seem to retrieve her career from the kitty litter box. It seems like it was only yesterday on Grey’s Anatomy that she was killingJeffrey Dean Morgan so he could get his heart transplant, but he died anyway and everyone loved her. But then she pissed on her own hit movie, pissed on her own hit TV show, and generally acted like a cooze. Now Katherine can barely get a sad tv legal drama past the premiere.

CBS has already pulled the plug on Doubt after only two episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

CBS has canceled legal drama Doubt, starring Katherine Heigl and Laverne Cox, after only two low-rated episodes, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The series, which was redeveloped and largely recast from last pilot season, will be replaced by a repeat of Bull in Doubt’s Wednesday at 10 p.m. slot on Wednesday, March 1. Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders will take over the Wednesday at 10 p.m. slot starting March 8.

Egads, when you’re replaced by the second spin-off of a show that’s only famous for firingThomas Gibson, well, that’s gotta be a trip to Frown Town for Kathy Heigl. The show shot 13 episodes in total, and no one is certain when or even if they’ll ever be aired. Rest assured that Doubt: The Lost Episodes will probably be available on a grainy VHS at Katherine’s signing table at a Grey’s Anatomy convention in 2028. Just watch.

The series opened to poor reviews — THR’s Daniel Fienberg said “No doubt the cast deserves better” in the “weak” legal drama — and lackluster ratings despite heavy promotion. Doubt bowed to a weak 0.8 rating among adults 18-49, coming in last place among shows on the Big Four that night. In week two, the drama fell again, dipping to a 0.6 rating — below the series low of its time slot predecessor, Code Black (0.7 adults).

This is a shame because, truthfully, who doesn’t want to see Laverne Coxdo well? Maybe CBS can give Laverne her own show and Katherine can play the bitchy neighbor? Maybe it’s time for supporting roles for Izzy, instead?
