NICK Kyrgios is in love and he’s not afraid to the let the world know.
The 21-year-old Australia is in career-best form, notching a second successive win over Novak Djokovic at the Indian Wells Masters.
Kyrgios has credited girlfriend — fellow Aussie player Ajla Tomljanovic — with his recent run, admitting spending time with her in Acapulco last week and watching her make a successful return from injury had contributed to his overall happiness.
“I think ultimately that’s what’s helped me the last couple weeks … It kind of took the pressure off me a little bit. I just played freely and I was enjoying myself. And seeing her happy was key for me. That’s been pretty important for me seeing her back out there,” Kyrgios said earlier this week.
Ajla Tomljanovic left Indian Wells after a first round defeat to Julia Goerges earlier this week but Kyrgios sent his love a message when he signed the television camera after the win over Djokovic.
It shows that while Kyrgios can be abrasive and volatile on the court, he’s just a big softie at heart.
