John Mara and Steve Tisch also said in the statement that the team will not make any coaching decisions until after the 2017 season has been completed.

The Kansas City Chiefs released defensive tackle Roy Miller, two days after he was arrested in Jacksonville, Fla., and charged with domestic battery of his wife.

“We did release Roy and we’re going to move on from that,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters, declining to answer further questions about Miller being waived. “I can’t really talk about anything from a legal standpoint, so I‘m going to just leave it at that.”

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, a controversial figure who started a movement to kneel during the national anthem before NFL games as a protest against racial inequality, has been named “Citizen of the Year” by GQ magazine.

GQ named its “Men of the Year” and the magazine released the cover featuring the four “new American heroes,” including Kaepernick, late night host Stephen Colbert, NBA star Kevin Durant and actress Gal Gadot.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Jamie Collins will miss the remainder of the season with a torn MCL in his right knee, the team announced.

Collins sustained the injury after he was tackled on an interception return by Detroit offensive lineman Graham Glasgow during Sunday’s 38-24 loss to the Lions.

According to multiple outlets, the Seattle Seahawks will sign free-agent cornerback Byron Maxwell to a contract in the wake of Sherman sustaining a season-ending Achilles injury during the team’s 22-16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals last week.

Maxwell, who worked out for the club, was selected by Seattle in the sixth round of the 2011 draft.

Green Bay Packers rookie running back Aaron Jones is expected to miss at least three weeks for a knee injury sustained in Sunday’s 23-16 win against the Chicago Bears.

Jones, who was injured on the opening drive against the Bears as he was tackled by linebacker Sam Acho, has an MCL injury and is expected to be out for three to six weeks, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

New Orleans Saints running back Daniel Lasco reportedly suffered a bulging disc in his spine during Sunday’s 47-10 win over the Buffalo Bills that required him to be taken off the field by ambulance in the second quarter.

Lasco’s injury is thought not to be career ending, according NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Oakland Raiders reinstated defensive tackle Darius Latham to the active roster, the team announced.

Latham was eligible to return after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He was placed on the Reserve/Suspended List on Oct. 9.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived Freddie Martino to make room on the active roster for fellow wide receiver Mike Evans, the team announced.

Evans served a one-game suspension by the NFL for his role in an altercation against the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 5. The 24-year-old Evans leads the team in receptions (40) and receiving yards (532) and is tied for top honors with tight end Cameron Brate with four touchdown catches.
